Mets signed RHP Chris Young to a minor league contract.
Young wanted an incentive-laden, major league contract, but that obviously wasn't going to happen after he underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior capsule in his right shoulder last May. Young will not be ready for the start of the season, so the structure of his deal allows the Mets to place him on the minor league disabled list and work him back slowly. Young has begun a throwing program. Expect to see him in Queens later this summer.
