Michael Bush contract Chicago Bears

3/22/2012: Signed a four-year, $14 million contract. The deal contains $7 million guaranteed.

Contract:4 yr(s) / $14,000,000 Signing Bonus - Average Salary $3,500,000 End Year:2015 Free Agent:2016 / Unrestricted

Bears agreed to terms with RB Michael Bush on a four-year, $14 million contract.
This should expedite Marion Barber's release, a move that would free up $1.7 million in cap space. Bush's addition also gives the Bears significant leverage in contract talks with unsigned franchise player Matt Forte. Even if Forte threatens a holdout, the Bears can sit comfortably with a starting-caliber back under contract, and Kahlil Bell at No. 2 on the depth chart. Bush isn't a dynamic runner, but he's got quick feet for his size and is a bull to bring down. He's also an adept receiver and pass blocker. Bush's addition may cut into Forte's 2012 fantasy value. He's definitely a candidate for short-yardage and goal-line work.

Bears sign RB Michael Bush

Four-year contract, $7 million guaranteed Free-agent running back Michael Bush agreed to a four-year contract with the Chicago Bears which could pay him $14 million, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday. Matt Forte is Chicago's franchise player and wants a new contract. He has not signed his franchise tender and Bush provides insurance in case he Forte decides to wait for a new contract. (Bay Area News Group) FF Today's Take: Bush provides insurance in case Forte's contract talks hit a snag and also gives the Bears solid depth in the backfield. Chicago Bears Take Out Matt Forte Insurance Pol...I Mean, Sign Michael Bush

Last year, the Chicago Bears signed Marion Barber as a backup for Matt Forte. Save for an embarrassing fumble against the Denver Broncos, he performed pretty well in that job. So...the Bears just signed another good backup for Matt Forte? Now-former Oakland Raiders running back Michael Bush is now a Bear. Adam Schefter reports that the deal is for $14 million and $7 million guaranteed. The Bears are now paying a lot of money to running backs; Forte was slapped with the franchise tag. A necessary question: Is Bush a good backup that fits a new offense that is going to rotate runni... Acme Packing Company

Forte's value skids with Bush signing

Matt Forte spent the first four seasons of his career as basically the only quality running back in Chicago. His fifth season won't quite be like that -- assuming he's there. The Bears agreed to a four-year contract with running back Michael Bush on Wednesday, solidifying the team's running back corps and likely shifting the focus away from Forte getting 20-plus touches per game and toward a tandem approach. Moreover, Bush will serve as an insurance policy for the Bears in the event Forte chooses to hold out or not sign a long-term deal with the team. Forte is currently the Bears' designated f... CBSSports.com Fantasy

Bears sign free agent running back Michael Bush

The Chicago Bears have invested good money in a No. 2 running back for the third consecutive year, and the signing Thursday of free agent Michael Bush to a four-year contract could prove to be quality insurance if a contract agreement can't be reached with Matt Forte. Bears Blog | Chicago Breaking Sports

Bush signs with Bears

Running back Michael Bush will back up Matt Forte instead of Darren McFadden _ and get a lot more money in the process. Bush signed a four-year contract worth $14 million, with nearly $7.8 million guaranteed, according to the Chicago Tribune. Michael Bush - Michael Bush signs with Bears

The Chicago Bears signed free-agent RB Michael Bush (Raiders) to a four-year deal worth $14 million Thursday, March 22. Bush will have $7 million in guarantees. Huddle Up: Wow, that's no money at all! If anything Bush just looks like an insurance policy in case Matt Forte isn't locked into a long-term deal. And if Forte does sign we've still RBBC lurking in Chicago. This signing is a bummer, fantasy-wise. The Huddle

Bush's new home: Chicago

The Bears announced Thursday that they have agreed to a four-year contract worth $14 million ($7 million guaranteed) with running back Michael Bush. The former Raider was great replacing Darren McFadden as the starter when McFadden got hurt in 2011, totaling 740 rush yards, 307 receiving yards and five total touchdowns in nine starts. It is believed that Bush will work in tandem with Matt Forte as well as be an insurance policy to the team in the event that they cannot work out a long-term deal with Forte, who is currently franchised. CBSSports.com Fantasy

RB Michael Bush goes to Bears for 4 years, $14 million

The Chicago Bears have picked up strong insurance in the event that Matt Forte is serious about holding out this summer. The Bears signed former Raiders running back Michael Bush on Thursday to a four-year contract worth $14 million, including $7 million guaranteed. Bush played second fiddle to Darren McFadden for most of his time in Oakland, but when asked to fill in for the oft-injured star, Bush displayed qualities of a true starting running back. Last year was Bush's best statistical season as he ran for 977 yards and seven touchdowns. He also caught 37 passes. FANTASY ANALYSIS: This can't... FFToolbox.com

Matt Forte (Chicago Bears)

Matt Forte contract Chicago Bears

Franchise player Matt Forte expressed frustration with the Bears' Thursday signing of Michael Bush.
"There's only so many times a man that has done everything he's been asked to do can be disrespected!" Forte wrote on his Twitter account. "Guess the good guys do finish last." Added Forte's agent, "To sign yet another running back, prior to completing a contract with Matt suggests disregard for Matt and his contribution to the Bears." Forte may end up skipping offseason workouts and holding out of training camp in protest.

Mark Anderson contract Buffalo Bills

Contract:4 yr(s) / $27,500,000 Signing Bonus - Average Salary $6,875,000 End Year:2015 Free Agent:2016 / Unrestricted

Bills signed DE Mark Anderson to a four-year, $27.5 million contract, with $8 million guaranteed.
Look for Buffalo to release DL Dwan Edwards in the coming days. Anderson is a one-trick pony pass rusher, but he will add explosiveness off the edge in Buffalo's nickel package. The 29-year-old racked up 12.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in New England last season, including 2.5 playoff sacks. With Mario Williams set to play left end, Anderson figures to be the Bills' primary right defensive end, rushing off the weak side. With stud tackles Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams plugging the interior, you can make a good argument that Buffalo now has a top-five defensive line in terms of sheer talent.

Alex Smith contract San Francisco 49ers signed 2012...
Contract details:
3/20/2012: Signed a three-year, $24 million contract. The deal contains $16.5 million guaranteed. Another $9 million is available through incentives.

Alex Smith contract negotiations
According to the Associated Press, Alex Smith's new three-year deal with the 49ers contains $16.5 million in guarantees and could climb as high as $33 million.
Even as they held all of the leverage, the 49ers gave in quite a bit. While Smith is still likely to earn $8 million per season, the guarantees went up from a reported $10 million in the standing offer. It's fair to wonder if the Niners will regret not going with Colin Kaepernick and a veteran backup rather than overpaying for mediocrity.
